A bit of a fairy tale about a devil named Florimón, who was sent from Hell to harm people. He takes up the task without much enthusiasm; he changes himself into a chimney sweep, and goes about sweeping chimneys. As often happens in fairy tales, his mission on earth turns out quite differently than he imagined. This lovely little book includes 34 pages of illustration by the author.

Pavel Čech - (1968) – painter and illustrator, a worthy disciple of predecessor Jiří Trnka. His small but beautiful book The Little Devil is an excellent literary debut. At present he is finishing his second book, to be entitled The Garden, a poetic revelation through the eyes of a child.
